Magyar Hound

The Magyars are brown, white, gray and silver, loving and fiercely protective; they are a medium sized breed with short coat, weighing 55 to 65 pounds.

Their height is 20 to 24 inches and that weight is 45 to 60 pounds for females and 65 to 75 for males. Most of the Magyars are fluffy and very muscular, with short and bushy coat that needs strict grooming.

They are a little stubborn, just subtle and cleverly, training is a snap since they are quick learners. Magyars are great chronic barkers and will let you know about it and have been known to be vocal, especially when threat perceived by the household. While distinct, the Tibetan Mastiff and the Magyar are very similar to each other. Tibet Session and protector dogs have been seen as companion dogs by the Tibet monks and believed to help with the old ways way of life by guarding the monasteries and the people.
